NIHE N Logo 2012Serena Jean has not performed here in New York City that much over the last year or so.  A couple of months back, she showed up as a vocalist with The New Ponies.  Tonight Serena Jean  will take center stage and lead her band  through a set at Hill Country.  If you’ve not seen Serena Jean before, her music is mostly rock and some alt country with a bit of a 70s feel.  Set time is at 9:30pm and there’s no cover.

NIHE N Logo 2012Alana Amram and The Rough Gems start a unique monthly residency at Brooklyn Rod and Gun tomorrow night.  Not only is Alana bringing the music, she’s bringing dinner. She explains it:

Once a month I am gonna cook and play some songs with special guests! This Saturday Jan. 19 at the Brooklyn Rod & Gun Club we have the brilliant Dawn Landes. It’s first come first serve for entry and chow. Temporary membership is $10 which includes a drink and free dinner. 59 Kent Ave. Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Dinner starts at 9pm, with the music at 10pm. (Note: I’ve not linked to the Brooklyn Rod & Gun website because my antivirus program keeps showing that it has malware luring on it.  All the info you need is shown above.)

NIHE N Logo 2012I had the great pleasure of seeing Kelli Scarr play a wonderful set at The Way Station in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights last night.  Kelli announced that she will be back at The Way Station every Wednesday in February.  If you haven’t yet yet seen Kelli or been to The Way Station, this will be a great way to do both.
